The criteria used by the court to approve or disapprove a home-study school’s name is identical to that used by the court when considering classroom-based traffic violator school names. This criteria, as stated in Veh. Code § 11205(d), is “whether the name is misleading to the public, undignified, or implies that the school offers inducements or premiums which derogate or distort the instructional intent of the traffic safety program.” INSTRUCTIONS FOR SELECTING A SCHOOL NAME 1. Name will be a maximum of 35 alpha characters including spaces. 2. Name will be unique to the traffic violator school program administered by the court’s Court Assistance Program. 3. The court’s Court Assistance Program may be contacted at (661) 940-1907 to confirm name availability before completing this form. If this form is not submitted within one year of contacting the Court Assistance Program, the name will become available to the next requestor. 4.
