A check or money order must accompany the application. Assumed Business Name Renewal. Business Name. The Assumed Business Name to be renewed must match exactly the name currently registered. Mailing address. An Assumed Business Name registration must be renewed every five years in accordance with 30-13-206, MCA. Notify the Secretary of State's Office of any changes to the business mailing address because the address on record is used to notify the applicant of renewal dates. Date of Renewal. An assumed business name may be renewed up to 90 days prior to the date of expiration. Applicant. The name of the applicant must match exactly with the current registration or an Assumed Business Name Amendment must also be filed. There is an additional $20.00 fee to file the amendment. Trademarks and Assumed Business Names. The successful filing of an Assumed Business Name application does not necessarily guarantee availability of a trademark.
