DECREE OF EMANCIPATION

This Court, having conducted a hearing brought on by petition of minor,
17
_____________________________________________, and having considered the above, the Court
18
hereby Decrees that the petitioner is emancipated and that this Decree be entered forthwith.

This Decree emancipates the minor for all purposes pursuant to N.R.S. 129.080 and removes
the disability of the minority of the petitioner insofar as that disability may affect the incurring of
21
22
indebtedness or contractual obligation of any kind; the litigation and settlement of controversies; the
23
acquiring, encumbering and conveying of property or any interest therein; the consenting to medical,
24
dental, or psychiatric care without parental consent, knowledge or liability; the enrolling in any
25
school or college; and the establishment if his or her own residence.

For these above purposes, the petitioner shall be considered in law as an adult and
27

any obligations he or she incurs are enforceable by and against him or her without regard to his or

her minority.
This Decree of Emancipation does not affect the status of the minor for any purpose,

including the applicability of any provision of law which: prohibits the sale, purchase or
5
consumption of intoxicating liquor to, or by, a person under the age of 21 years; prohibits gaming or
6
employment in gaming by, or of, a person under the age of 21 years; restricts the ability to marry of
7
a person under the age of 18 years; governs matters relating to referrals for delinquent acts or
8
violations of NRS 392.040 to 392.125, inclusive, unless the minor has been certified for trial as an
9

adult pursuant to title 5 of NRS ; or imposes penalties or regulates conduct according to the age of
any person.

A petition may be filed by any person or by any public agency to void a decree of
13
emancipation on the following grounds: (a) the minor has become indigent and has insufficient
14
means of support; or, (b) the decree of emancipation was obtained by fraud, misrepresentation or the
15
16
withholding of material information. The voiding of any decree of emancipation does not alter any
17
contractual obligations or rights or any property rights or interests, which arose during the period
18
that the decree was in effect.
