The state or other bar information provided on the application form willbe verified by the Clerk222s Office.If you are not admitted to practice in the State of Tennessee, you must attach a certificate ofgood standing from a United States District Court or a United States appellate court where you areadmitted. Both attorneys who sign the application on your behalf must be admitted to practice beforethis Court. After submission of your application to the Clerk's Office, we will promptly determine ifyour application may be approved pursuant to Local Rules of this Court. If we approve yourapplication, you will receive an email of approval with the upcoming admission dates, check-inprocedures, and the current amount for the admission fee. You must be admitted to practice withinsix (6) months from the date your application is approved. If you are not admitted to practice withinthat six (6) months, you must submit a new application.An attorney who is admitted to practice before this Court must accompany you and introduceyou in open court. This attorney does not need to be one of the attorneys who signed yourapplication for admission. On your scheduled admission date, please report to the Clerk's Office at least fifteen minutesprior to the time you are to be admitted in order to check in, pay the admission fee, and be advisedof the courtroom for the admission hearing. After you are admitted, you must return to the Clerk'sOffice with your application to sign the Bar book and receive your certificate to practice.Any attorney employed in the offices of the U.S. Attorney or the Federal Public Defenderwho is admitted to the bar of any state or territory of the U.S. or the District of Columbia may beadmitted to practice upon completion of the certification for federal government attorneys. Thecertification must be signed by the attorney and returned to the Clerk with a certificate of admissionor other confirmation of admission to the bar of a state, territory, or the District of Columbia. Uponreturn of the certification, the attorney will be notified to sign the Bar book. The fee waiverextended by Local Rule 83.01(a)(7) is effective only during the attorney222s employment with thespecified office.You must follow all the steps outlined above to be a member of the Bar of this Court.
