Pursuant to Rule 13 of the Vermont Rules of Probate Procedure you are notified of certain rights and elections available to you in the above entitled estate by law as the surviving spouse of the decedent. As specified below, these elections or rights are available to you only if you take certain actions. 1. The right to file a motion for receipt of household goods, furnishings, furniture and household outfit belonging to the decedent pursuant to 14 V.S.A. Section 312 if you resided with the decedent at the time of death and the decedent died without issue. 2. The right to file a motion to the fiduciary or the court for support of yourself and/or minor children out of the estate until it is settled pursuant to 14 V.S.A. Section 316 if you are the widow of the decedent. The purpose of this document is to notify you of possible elections and rights you may have. This notice does not detail all the conditions under which elections and rights exist. Nor is it intended to encourage you to exercise any elections or rights you may have.
