AS OF NOVEMBER 1, 1998, THE PROCEDURE TO OBTAIN A PRO TEM JUDGE IN A NON JURY CIVIL MATTER SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS: 1) Counsel and litigants shall sign and present a Stipulation, Oath and Order of the appointment of a pro tem judge to the judge assigned the case or, if the case is unassigned, to the presiding judge. If approved, these documents shall be filed. 2) The Stipulation, Oath and Order Appointing Judge Pro Tem shall be in the form attached. Counsel will be responsible for all scheduling and compensation arrangements directly with the judge pro tem. Court Administration shall be consulted prior to scheduling a trial date if the parties want to use a courtroom for the duration of the trial. 3) The cost of the pro tem judge and certified clerk will be borne by the parties. 4) The cost of the court reporter, if required, will be borne by the parties. The court reporter shall file in the court file the Pro Tem Court Reporter Information Form attached hereto at the conclusion of the trial. 5) Counsel shall utilize a certified court Clerk, approved by the Superior Court Clerk’s Office for all sessions of the trial, who shall maintain the minute entries and exhibits. Counsel shall choose a name from the list of certified clerks maintained by the Superior Court Clerk’s Office.
