Any juvenile adjudicated delinquent for a felony act committed on or
after April 21, 1994, is restricted from possessing firearms. This
restriction continues even into adulthood unless the restrictions are
removed by a judge. Section 941.29(1)(bm), Wis. Stats., provides
that the individual may petition a court for removal of the
restrictions. The statute does not limit the filing of the petition to the
court of the county where the adjudication occurred.
If the request is granted, the Department of Justice form DJ-LE-FH9
must be completed by the Clerk and forwarded to the Crime
Information Bureau.
