NOTICE
ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE PROCEDURE
Effective January 1, 1991, all Orders to Show Cause heard in San Bernardino County will be
determined solely on the basis of written affidavits or declarations submitted by the parties and
optional oral argument. NO ORAL TESTIMONY will be permitted except in the discretion of the
Court for good cause shown.

and
LOCAL FAMILY LAW RULES OF COURT REQUIRE THAT ALL RESPONSIVE DOCUMENTS,
INCLUDING COUNTER-AFFIDAVITS AND COUNTER-DECLARATIONS, BE SERVED ON
OPPOSING COUNSEL IN SUCH A MANNER AS TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE RECEIVED BY
OPPOSING COUNSEL NOT LESS THAN TWO COURT DAYS PRIOR TO THE DATE SET FOR
HEARING. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS RULE MAY RESULT IN THE IMPOSITION OF
SANCTIONS BY THE COURT.
Counsel are instructed to hold the original responsive documents and file them in the courtroom
where OSC is set. A proof of service should be attached to the original responsive documents
indicating the time and manner of service on the moving party to determine compliance with
the two-day rule set forth in the preceding paragraph.
All OSC paperwork must be typewritten or printed legibly in black ink.
A COPY OF THIS NOTICE SHALL BE SERVED
